April: All Work (But Some Play)

We’re making great progress at Cromey. The painters are moving through the Manoir. The floor prep is just about done, so we’ll be able to lay the parquet and Burgundy stone soon. The landscaping in the park is fabulous. And we should be swimming in a heated pool sometime next week.

Burgundy Stone Floor…Coming Soon!

But it’s not all slog and renovation!   We have a pied-a-terre (in the building we call the Pavillon) where Ellie and I can stay while overseeing the work.  We’ve made it cozy. And as Spring arrives, we’re taking time to enjoy the beauty of the place.

Last week we had some good friends from Atlanta stop by. We went to visit Michel Arcelain in Pommard and then went on the obligatory tour of the property…before a little lunch in the Pavillon. All very simple, very basic.  But we feel the momentum.

It won’t be long now!  Come to Burgundy.  You have to see this place to believe it!
